Home care assistance

The CDS program allows people with significant physical disabilities to obtain home care assistance for daily living activities in order to maintain their independence at home.  With theCDS program, a person has the freedom to hire anyone of their own choosing (with the exception of a spouse or significant other) to provide care for them.

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO COST FOR TO THE CONSUMER FOR CDS.

Shamrock Consumer Care, LLC serves as a vendor to provide the necessary

administrative support services.

Why CDS?

The Consumer Directed Services (CDS) program is fully Medicaid funded that provides assistance to individuals with physical disabilities who are 18 years of age or older.

Hiring an individual(s) to perform routine tasks of daily living and other tasks the individual(s) is unable to perform alone, allows this person to live independently.

Daily living activities can include dressing, undressing, bathing, grooming, housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping, transportation, etc.

Being on a consumer controlled care-giving program gives the person with a disability control over their own life. To do this, the person with a disability actually becomes the employer and hires their personal care attendant. The attendant’s job description can include housekeeping, laundry, cooking, personal care, and transportation.
